This picture represents so much for me. This is my youngest with the youngest of one of the first players I coached (I was only a couple years out of college). It was taken after one of our games a couple years ago when she brought her sweet family to come support me. When I coached this beautiful little girl’s mom, I didn’t know what I didn’t know about coaching or leadership (and still don’t!). Thankfully, she and her teammates gave me a lot of grace and helped me learn so many lessons that made me the coach I am today. I like to believe it is because I loved them, was willing to admit my mistakes, and I believed in them more than anyone other than their parents ever had. She helped lead her team to an Elite 8 to finish her senior year (despite a serious injury and the program having never gone that far before) and then went on to play four years in college before becoming an incredible wife, mother, and professional.⠀

As a leader, I think it is really easy to get paralyzed by what we don’t know or to doubt ourselves if we haven’t been down a road before. However, one thing I’ve learned over the years is that passion, belief, humility, and love will overcome all of those things and allow us to make an impact not just in the moment but for years to come.⠀
