The difference between a good team and a championship team is often not talent or even skill. It is often the amount of times they are willing to do the boring, mundane details in order to create habits that allow them to win the long rallies and perform under pressure. Championships aren’t won in one day of great performance. They are won in the days, weeks, and months leading up to that day when you take one extra rep, focus on one small detail, and stay focused for one extra minute.

Similarly, pursuing excellence in anything is the same. It takes continued attention to detail and the willingness to do the little things well that others don’t want to do.

What keeps you from doing the little things on a daily basis? What motivates you to do them?
